Wyatt opened the front door and stepped back as first Dany, then Yvette preceded him outside.

"We can walk off our supper outside and I can show you the compound at the same time."

Dany reached over and took Yvette's hand and he thought how nice it was that they were getting along so well. He smiled as he watched them, these two women, who he barely knew if truth be told, but both of whom he felt strongly about. Well, strongly about Dany. Yvette, well, he liked her. He liked kissing her. He wanted to do that again. He'd thought about it every free second he'd had today. But they honestly didn't know each other that well.

He followed them down the four steps of the sweeping veranda. He then caught up to them with two long strides.

"I can show you the memorial trees in the back."

Yvette tilted her head up and he noticed several things at once. Her hair was gorgeous. Thick, long, brunette but the fiery hues where the sun shone on it were mesmerizing. Her frame was tall compared to Dany, but they were both slender. Her smile reached her eyes and the bruising in her face was fading with each passing hour. And she was simply stunning.

"Jax mentioned something about a tree planted for her dad and Jake and Dodge's son, Adam. And there’s another tree planted by Sophie and Gaige for Kate and Tate."

"Yes, I noticed when she needs to reflect, she sits under the trees and the look on her face is always peaceful. So, the team bought a bench for her to sit on for her birthday this year. She was unusually quiet when we gave it to her."

Yvette laughed and it was a sight. "I'd love to see Jax rendered speechless by emotion. She's the strongest person I know and not much gets to her."

Nodding he only responded with, "Yep."

"I can't wait to meet Jax. She wasn't here at dinner, right?"

"No, she was feeling tired again today, so she went home this afternoon. She's married to Dodge and they have a house outside of town. At least I've heard, I haven't seen it yet." Yvette quickly answered.

Dany nodded and they walked silently for a few steps. What struck him was how comfortable he was in this silence. No one seemed nervous or chatting wildly to fill it and he rather liked it.

They wound around the side of the house to the back and Yvette sighed. "It's simply like magic here. I feel safe. It's beautifully kept and yet we're close to town."

"All by design. Gaige was very precise in what he wanted for us here and he makes sure it's maintained that way, too."

He stopped just before the trees and stared at them. They were beginning to bloom for the spring, and the sight of the new growth was refreshing.

"Wow, this is gorgeous." Dany exclaimed.

She walked forward to the bench and read the inscription on the plaque on the back, then turned to the trees.
